Soros Family Office Hires Ex-Goldman Trader for H.K. Unit (1)

Donald Fries, a former executive director at Goldman Sachs Group Inc., has joined George Soros’s family office in Hong Kong.

Fries started in February as a portfolio manager after almost four years at Goldman’s trading desk in Hong Kong. He previously worked at hedge funds Pine River Capital Management and Maverick Capital, according to his LinkedIn profile.

A Soros spokesman confirmed the hire.
