Rothschild Is Said to Name Shah as India Head, Replacing Ruparel

Rothschild & Co. has named Aalok Shah as country head for India, people familiar with the matter said, as the advisory firm looks to tap growing dealmaking activity in the world’s most populous nation.

Shah, a managing director and India co-head at Rothschild, will start on his new role on July 1 and continue to be based in Mumbai, the people said, asking not to be identified because the information isn’t public. He’s replacing Chandresh Ruparel, who has been with the firm since 2003 and will act as an adviser after stepping down, the people said.
