The Sarasota, Florida-based company is working with advisers to solicit interest from potential buyers, including private equity firms, said the people, who asked not to be identified discussing confidential information. The division could fetch as much as $4 billion in a transaction, they said.
Talks are in the early stages and Roper could decide to keep the unit. A spokesperson for Roper Technologies didn’t immediately respond to requests for comment.
