PE Firm 3i Sees Slowing Deals as Uncertainty Grips Markets (1)

Private equity firm 3i Group Plc expects deal activity to remain subdued this year as US trade policy creates a “complex” market environment.

“We expect transaction activity across the private market to be slower over the near term given the increased macro-economic and geopolitical uncertainty,” it said in a statement.

The London-based firm reported net asset value per share and total return for the year to March 31 that were below analyst expectations. Shares fell as much as 8.1% in London. Before today, the stock had gained 18% this year.
