Paul Hastings said it advised San Francisco-based private equity firm Vector Capital on its agreement to acquire MarkLogic Corp., a provider of cloud-based services for enterprise data management.

San Carlos, Calif.-based MarkLogic was represented by Cooley on the deal, expected to close in 2020’s fourth quarter, according to a statement.

MarkLogic has over 2,500 customers, including government agencies, financial services firms, insurers, manufacturers, media companies, and health care providers, the statement said.

Those customers use MarkLogic’s flagship data hub service to simplify integration, search, and analysis of varied sources of data for “immediate business value.”

Vector Capital’s managing director, Andy Fishman, said MarkLogic is a pioneer in innovative approaches to data integration, with significant growth prospects as Big Data continues to get more complex.

“MarkLogic’s highly advanced data management capabilities, top-notch talent pool, and blue-chip customer base position it for success and continued expansion,” Fishman said.
