PAI Said to Near Motel One Investment at €3.5 Billion Valuation

PAI Partners is set to become the majority owner of Motel One in a deal valuing the hotel operator at about €3.5 billion ($3.6 billion), according to people familiar with the matter.

The private equity firm is taking a 80% stake in the operating business, the people said, asking not to be identified discussing confidential information. Motel One’s founder Dieter Müller will remain chairman of the company and will further develop the previously spun-off real estate arm, they said.

An agreement could be announced as soon as Monday, the people said.
