Oaktree Hires Zhang to Lead New Private Credit Strategy in Asia

Global alternative investment manager Oaktree Capital Management has hired Roger Zhang to lead a new private debt strategy in Asia Pacific, focusing on performing credit, according to people familiar with the matter.

Singapore-based Zhang, earlier partner at multi-asset investment platform Granite Asia, will start in the fourth quarter, the people said, who asked not to be identified discussing private matters. The new performing credit strategy will target private lending opportunities with expected returns of high-single digits to low-teens, they added.
