Nvidia-Backed Robotics Firm Generalist AI Valued at $2 Billion

Generalist AI, a robotics startup, has raised $400 million in a new funding round to develop more sophisticated artificial intelligence models meant to help robots handle increasingly complex tasks.

The financing, set to be announced on Thursday, values Generalist at $2 billion, including the money raised. Radical Ventures led the round with participation from venture firms 8VC, Union Square Ventures, Norwest and Hanabi Capital, as well as existing investors Nvidia Corp. and Bezos Expeditions.

Several prominent tech leaders also kicked in funds, including Zoom Communications Inc. Chief Executive Officer Eric Yuan, Xiaomi Corp. co-founder Lin Bin and AI pioneer Fei-Fei Li.
