Northleaf Invests in $69 Million in Telecom Infrastructure Firm

Northleaf Capital Partners Ltd. agreed to invest C$100 million ($69 million) in telecommunications infrastructure company Shared Tower Inc. to help the Canadian firm make acquisitions and accelerate growth.

Shared Tower, founded in 2021 by Chief Executive Officer Dan Gibbons, develops and owns communications towers as well as cables for 5G networks. The company is based in Oakville, Ontario.

Private equity and infrastructure investors have eagerly backed telecom infrastructure companies amid growing demand for faster, more reliable connectivity. With the rise of remote work, e-commerce and entertainment services, telecom companies are investing heavily in networks, data centers and other technologies.
