MBK Agrees to Buy Alinamin Pharmaceutical From Blackstone

MBK Partners Ltd.signed a share purchase agreement to acquire Tokyo-based Alinamin Pharmaceutical Co. from Blackstone Inc.

The private equity firm aims to strengthen Alinamin’s retail business in Japan, accelerate its expansion overseas, and grow its direct-to-consumer business, it said in a statement Wednesday. Details of the transaction weren’t disclosed.

Bloomberg News reported last month that Blackstone was considering a sale and working with advisers on a deal that could value Alinamin at about ¥300 billion ($1.9 billion).
