Lux Capital General Partner Zuberi Leaves to Launch New Firm

Lux Capital General Partner Bilal Zuberi will leave the venture capital institution he’s helped build over the past decade to start a new firm focused on artificial intelligence in the physical world.

Zuberi will raise funds to launch a venture firm with a focus on early-stage founders developing AI with direct applications to the real world, according to a person familiar with the plans who asked not to be identified discussing private information. That’s a contrast with many of today’s best-known AI companies, which are working on products that mostly deal with text and images.
