An executive with KKR & Co.’s global wealth unit has left the private equity giant as it joins other Wall Street firms in ramping up efforts to seek funds from ultra-rich individuals and families.

Blake Shorthouse departed KKR in recent weeks after working for about a decade in a London-based role dealing with investment firms for wealthy families, according to people with knowledge of the matter, who asked not to be identified as the details are private.
