Goldman Sachs-Backed Startup Clio Reaches $5 Billion Value (1)

Canadian software company Themis Solutions Inc., which does business under the name Clio, closed a $500 million funding round that values the firm at $5 billion.

The Series G round was led by New Enterprise Associates and includes other existing investors Goldman Sachs Asset Management, TCV, Sixth Street Growth and JMI Equity, Clio said in a statement Monday.

The Vancouver-based company helps lawyers manage their practices by automating processes such as client intake, accounting and document management. At $5 billion, it would be one of Canada’s most valuable technology startups. Others that have reached that threshold include ...
