French Fuel Retailer Rubis Is Said to Attract CVC, Trafigura

CVC Capital Partners Plc and Trafigura Groupare among potential bidders for French fuel distributor Rubis SCA, according to people familiar with the matter.

Amsterdam-listed CVC and the commodity trading giant are separately weighing offers for Rubis, which distributes products such as gasoline and bitumen in Europe, Africa and the Caribbean, the people said. Deliberations are ongoing and the companies could decide against any deal, the people said.

Representatives for CVC and Trafigura declined to comment, while a Rubis representative didn’t immediately respond to requests for comment.
