Former SVB UK Chief Platts to Leave HSBC to Run Octopus Ventures

Erin Platts, the former chief executive officer of the British arm of Silicon Valley Bank, is leaving HSBC Holdings Plc to join a venture capital firm.

Platts said on LinkedIn that she was leaving to join Octopus Ventures as its CEO. Platts said she would be joining the London-based firm in January and would remain as a special adviser to HSBC.

“I look forward to continuing to support founders in my new role,” Platts wrote in her post.
