EQT Targets €250 Billion of European Investments in Next 5 Years

Swedish private equity group EQT AB plans to more than double its investments in Europe by spending about €250 billion ($291 billion) over the next five years.

“We would like to commit even more - but that hinges on Europe becoming a place where companies can truly fulfill their potential,” Chief Executive Officer Per Franzen said in comments posted on the firm’s website.

EQT says it has invested €120 billion in Europe in the past five years, underscoring its shift from a Nordic-focused buyout fund to the world’s second biggest private equity firm based on capital raised.
