EQT-Backed Epidemic Sound Rules Out IPO to Focus on Growth

The co-founder and chief executive officer of Epidemic Sound AB said the Swedish music licensing platform has no plans to launch an initial public offering and is instead focused on delivering growth.

“We’re only working toward building a world class company,” CEO Oscar Hoglund said in an interview. His comments follow last year’s media reports that the group could list sometime in 2025.

Stockholm-based Epidemic Sound, which counts private equity firm EQT AB as its largest shareholder, saw its valuation reach $1.4 billion after the last funding round in 2021. Hoglund says the company remains “well financed.”
