ECB’s Big Leveraged Finance Probe Is Almost Done, Maijoor Says

Some of Europe’s largest banks are about to find out how much their top regulator wants them to cut risk in loans to highly indebted companies, after a senior official said an in-depth probe is nearing completion.

“We’re now getting to the finalization of this more comprehensive review,” said Steven Maijoor, a member of the European Central Bank’s Supervisory Board. “We’re also looking at risk practices. The ECB is in the process of sharing and discussing these results with the relevant banks.”
