D.E. Shaw Reaches Cooperation Agreement With Fintech Giant FIS

Financial-technology giant Fidelity National Information Services Inc. signed a cooperation agreement with hedge fund D.E. Shaw & Co. and accelerated a leadership succession plan.

Stephanie Ferris, who was slated to become chief executive officer of FIS in January, will now take the reins of the beleaguered fintech on Friday. Jeffrey Goldstein, a longtime dealmaker, was tapped to become chairman the same day.
