Coller Capital Seeks First Chinese Yuan Fund Amid US Tensions

Coller Capital, a UK investor in the secondary market for private assets, is seeking to raise 1.5 billion yuan ($218 million) for its maiden fund denominated in the Chinese currency, as US institutions shy away from investing in the country.

London-based Coller announced the first close in a statement on Thursday. It’s the first global private capital secondaries firm to launch a yuan fund of its type in China with support from local investors, the company said.

The fund will focus on providing liquidity solutions for investors and general partners in the yuan private capital market in China.
