Clayton Dubilier & Rice is poised to close a $26 billion fund within the next week, surpassing a fundraising goal even as the private equity industry struggles to raise capital.

The Clayton Dubilier & Rice Fund XII LP received about $23.5 billion in commitments from external investors plus a $2.5 billion commitment from general partners, according to a person familiar with the matter, who asked not to be identified discussing private information. The fund’s initial goal was about $20 billion, the person said.
