Citadel Securities Former Top Lawyer Tarbert Set to Join Circle

Heath Tarbert, the former chief legal officer for market maker Citadel Securities, is joining stablecoin issuer Circle Internet Financial.

Tarbert will be Circle’s chief legal officer and head of corporate affairs and starts July 1, the company said in a release Thursday.

His move comes at a fraught time for the digital-asset industry. The US has taken a more aggressive stance toward the sector following the collapse of several firms, including trading giant FTX, last year.
