Brookfield’s Insurer Seeks to Hire 20 for Japan Market Expansion

Brookfield Corp. said Japan could become its second-largest market globally for reinsurance as the investment firm’s insurance unit seeks to expand and hire more than 20 people in Tokyo over the next five years.

“Our insurance business, as we build partnerships, will grow,” Sachin Shah, chief executive officer of Brookfield Wealth Solutions, said in an interview. “The size of the population, the culture of saving” in Japan will help with growth, he added.
