BMO Hires Leveraged Finance Banker Rutherford From UBS

Bank of Montreal is hiring Michael Rutherford, previously at UBS Group AG, to join its leveraged finance team, according to people with knowledge of the matter, the latest in a string of exits from the Swiss bank.

Rutherford is leaving UBS this month and will join the Canadian bank after a period of gardening leave, said the people, who asked not to be identified discussing private information.

Rutherford and a representative for BMO declined to comment, while a UBS spokesperson didn’t respond to a request for comment.
