The alternative investing giant is considering a stand-alone pool of capital to buy second-hand private credit funds, said the people, who weren’t authorized to speak publicly as the matter is private. That would be a departure from the current approach where it invests through its flagship private equity funds.
A new strategy would fall under the remit of Blackstone’s Strategic Partners secondaries unit specializing in private equity, infrastructure and real estate.
A spokesperson for Blackstone declined to comment.
