Atreides Capital Hires Ex-Putnam Portfolio Manager Neil Desai

Atreides Management LP, a crossover investment firm based in Boston, hired former Putnam Investments portfolio manager Neil Desai, according to people with knowledge of the matter.

Desai will serve as a managing director for Atreides’s hedge fund and a partner at the firm’s venture-focused Arrakis fund, said the people, who requested anonymity to discuss confidential information. He joined Putnam in 2012 and oversaw the firm’s Bluescale Capital and Putnam Global Technology Fund before departing this summer. Before that, Desai was a partner at Crosslink Capital, according to LinkedIn profile.
