Apollo Taps Former Amazon Executive as Private Equity ESG Chief

Apollo Global Management Inc. appointed Carletta Ooton as head of environmental, social and governance for its private equity business.

Ooton joins from Amazon.com Inc., where she played a key role in establishing the company’s sustainability efforts, Apollo said in a statement on Monday. She will also be an operating partner for the firm’s portfolio performance solutions platform.

Apollo, like peers, is beefing up its ESG operations. Last month, the firm appointed Dave Stangis as chief sustainability officer. Michael Kashani has also joined as head of ESG for credit.
