Apollo Hires Voya’s Mike Pagano as Head of Insurance Coverage

Apollo Global Management Inc. hired Voya Financial Inc.’s Mike Pagano to help the firm grow its business providing capital and asset management solutions for insurance companies.

Pagano, 53, will focus on expanding Apollo’s relationships with insurers, including syndicating investment-grade debt, co-investment opportunities and reinsurance, according to Vishal Sheth, co-head of the financial institutions group.

“He’s managed proprietary insurance balance sheets as well as large complex mandates for third parties,” Sheth said of Pagano, who will be a partner and start in the newly created position early next month.
