AI Health Startup Sword Buys Rival, Seeks $500 Million Funding

Sword Health agreed to acquire rival Kaia Health for $285 million in its biggest deal to date, expanding the AI health startup’s footprint in the US and marking its entry into Germany.

The deal moves Kaia’s American members onto Sword’s platform and gives the company access to Germany’s digital health reimbursement system, covering more than 70 million people, according to founder and Chief Executive Officer Virgílio Bento.
