Zoom to Boost Protection for Meeting Data, Tampering Resistance

Zoom will add support for AES 256-bit GCM encryption in the upcoming version, providing increased protection for meeting data and resistance against tampering, according to a statement.

  • Zoom 5.0 to be released within the week
  • Security icon in the meeting menu bar makes it easier to access security controls
  • Hosts will be able to “Report a User” to Zoom via the Security icon
  • For education customers, screen-sharing now defaults to the host only
