The Chinese smartphone maker says it’s never blocked nor transmitted personal information or data generated by users, co. says in a statement.
Xiaomi pledges to abide by local regulations and respect user privacy- Xiaomi was responding to a statement by Taiwan’s National Communications Commission, which warned the Beijing-based company’s Mi 10T 5G smartphone is capable of censoring politically sensitive terms including “Taiwan independence” and “free Tibet”, and may be transmitting data back to China.
Note: Taiwan’s NCC, the island’s telecom and broadcast media regulator, issued a statement Thursday warning users about the Xiaomi model.
