Xiaomi Denies Taiwan Allegation it Could Send User Data to China

The Chinese smartphone maker says it’s never blocked nor transmitted personal information or data generated by users, co. says in a statement.

• Xiaomi was responding to a statement by Taiwan’s National Communications Commission, which warned the Beijing-based company’s Mi 10T 5G smartphone is capable of censoring politically sensitive terms including “Taiwan independence” and “free Tibet”, and may be transmitting data back to China.

Note: Taiwan’s NCC, the island’s telecom and broadcast media regulator, issued a statement Thursday warning users about the Xiaomi model.
