Wingstop Workers Advance Biometric Privacy Claims Against NCR

NCR Corp. must face a proposed class action alleging it collected and disclosed fingerprint scans of Wingstop Inc. employees without their consent in violation of Illinois’ biometric data privacy law, a federal court ruled.

NCR couldn’t escape liability under the Illinois Biometric Information Privacy Act just because it was a third-party vendor without a direct relationship to Wingstop workers, Judge Sara L. Ellis of the US District Court for the Northern District of Illinois said in a Monday ruling.
