Whitepages Wins Pause on Privacy Suit, Loses Dismissal Request

Whitepages Inc. won its bid to stay the bulk of a privacy lawsuit it’s facing in Illinois federal court, but the online directory company lost its request to dismiss the claims outright.

Plaintiff Stephanie Lukis’s claims are stayed pending Whitepages’ appeal of its motion to arbitrate her allegations, Judge Gary Feinerman wrote in an opinion filed July 16 in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois.

Attorneys representing the plaintiffs and proposed class didn’t immediately respond to a request for comment.
