Whaleco Hit With Lawsuit Over Data Collected Through Temu App

Whaleco Inc. allegedly collects personal and biometric information of the users of its Temu online shopping app without their consent, and it fails to disclose that their information could be collected by the Chinese government, a proposed federal class action said.

The lawsuit is the latest to target the data-collection practices of China-linked firms that are required by law to give the Chinese government access to the data they collect.
