Wells Fargo Sued for Breach That Exposed Social Security Numbers

Wells Fargo Bank is responsible for a 2021 data breach that exposed the sensitive data, including Social Security numbers, of thousands of customers, according to a proposed class action filed in federal court in San Francisco.

Brent Carey alleged that the bank failed to properly safeguard customer data, leading to a breach that also compromised names, contact information, and dates of birth.
