Watergate Suffers Cyber Break-In, Qilin Leak, Employee Alleges

A former Watergate Hotel employee sued the hotel and its management company for failing to prevent a data breach that exposed the sensitive data of at least 2,220 people.

Plaintiff Samantha Williams filed the class action lawsuit Wednesday in the US District Court for the Southern District of New York against Watergate Hotel LLC and Euro Capital Properties LLC on behalf of employees and consumers. The complaint said that hackers accessed the Washington hotel’s computer systems in April 2024, but the hotel didn’t provide notice until February 2025.
