Vietnam Denies Government-Tied Hackers Target Auto Industry

Cyber-security provider FireEye Inc.’s allegation that Vietnamese “state-aligned” hackers are targeting foreign automotive companies are “unfounded,” Ministry of Foreign Affairs spokeswoman Le Thi Thu Hang said.

“Vietnam strictly prohibits cyber attacks aimed at organizations and individuals in any form,” she said in an email statement. “Cyber-security threats and attacks must be condemned and strictly punished in accordance with the law. Vietnam is willing to cooperate with the international community in preventing and fighting against cyber attacks in any form.”
