Verizon Faces Potential Class Action Over Employee Data Breach

Verizon Communications Inc. faces a putative class action alleging it failed to safeguard employee data from a 2023 data breach and to quickly disclose it to the roughly 63,000 people affected.

Plaintiff Carlos Malacon, a former Verizon business account manager, accused the company of waiting Verizon nearly two months to notify victims of the theft of their personal data in the complaint filed Wednesday in the US District Court for the Central District of California.
