University of Texas Site Managers Escape Video Privacy, Wiretap Suit

Learfield Communications LLC and Sidearm Sports LLC again evaded a plaintiff’s second proposed class action targeting their use of Meta Pixels on the University of Texas Longhorns website, this time alleging federal wiretap and video privacy claims.

Judge David Alan Ezra dismissed Adam Brown’s lawsuit alleging the sports marketing firms violated the Video Privacy Protection Act and Federal Wiretap Act, noting his finding on the new video claim remained the same as when he dismissed the first suit in January.
