Union Pacific Wins Partial Stay in Biometric Privacy Lawsuit

Union Pacific Railroad Co. won its bid to stay discovery in a proposed biometric privacy class action levied against it in Illinois federal court, but lost its request for a full pause on the case.

The railroad giant must respond to plaintiff David Fleury’s amended complaint by July 9, Judge Jorge L. Alonso wrote in an opinion filed Wednesday in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois.

Attorneys representing Union Pacific didn’t immediately respond to a request for comment.
