University of Massachusetts employees claim that they failed to receive wages owed to them after the school’s timekeeping and payroll system was hacked in December 2021, according to a lawsuit filed Wednesday in federal court in Massachusetts.
Danielle Pallotta and Cheryl Laflamme brought the proposed class action against UMass Memorial, one of the largest health-care systems in Massachusetts, alleging that its failure to secure Kronos, a workforce management software, caused their personal information to be compromised.
Pallotta and Laflamme claim that the data breach jeopardized the names, addresses, employee IDs, and social security numbers of over 8 million employees.
