U.K. Regulator Unveils Children’s Privacy Standards

The U.K.'s data regulator unveiled 15 standards tech companies must meet to protect children’s online privacy or risk enforcement.

Companies should have “high privacy” settings on, and geolocation tracking options off, by default, according to the standards released by U.K. Information Commissioner’s Office. Companies also shouldn’t disclose children’s data unless they can show a compelling reason for doing so, the office said in the code of practice.
