Match Group Inc. is accused in a lawsuit from Tinder users of breaching a state privacy law in Illinois by collecting data on people’s faces from dating app selfies.

Tinder lets users submit video selfies to prove that their identity matches the images on their dating profile. This verification process allegedly gathers and stores details from users’ faces in violation of the state’s Biometric Information Privacy Act, according to the complaint pending in a Chicago federal court.
