TicketNetwork Fined $85K For Connecticut Privacy Law Violations

Connecticut hit online ticket marketplace TicketNetwork Inc. with an $85,000 fine Tuesday for violating its comprehensive privacy law, marking the state’s first enforcement action since the cure period expired.

TicketNetwork’s privacy notice was “largely unreadable” and missed key consumer data rights, violating the 2023 Connecticut Data Privacy Act, Connecticut Attorney General William Tong said in a news release announcing the settlement. Tong’s office said it first notified the company of deficiencies in November 2023, four months after the law took effect, giving it the chance to come into compliance without penalties.
