Ticketmaster LLC acted negligently in failing to protect consumers’ personally identifiable information from a reported breach, according to a proposed class action.
The private information of 560 million Ticketmaster customers was compromised by the hacker group “ShinyHunters” on or around May 28 and then placed for sale on dark-web forums, according to reports cited by the complaint filed in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California on Wednesday.
Ticketmaster hasn’t confirmed the breach. The company didn’t immediately respond to a request for comment. The lawsuit also names Ticketmaster’s parent company,
