This Is IT: Agency Cybersecurity Gaps Persist, Progress Stalled

Most agencies are failing or barely getting by when it comes to cybersecurity, according to the latest scorecard for the Federal Information Technology Acquisition Reform Act (FITARA).

In the scorecard’s twelfth iteration, just seven of 24 agencies required to report FITARA progress updates received a cybersecurity score of A or B, up from six in the eleventh scorecard. Eight agencies received Cs and the remaining eight received failing grades. The General Services Administration and Small Business Administration are the only two agencies with an A in that category.

Overall FITARA progress has stalled, with 18 agencies’ scores unchanged.
