Tenet Healthcare Gets Narrowed Suit Over Online Tracking Pixels

Tenet Healthcare Corp. convinced a federal court to dismiss some claims in a proposed class action from California patients who alleged that the healthcare provider improperly used tracking pixels from Meta Platforms and Google.

Claims under California’s Comprehensive Computer Data Access and Fraud Act and Consumer Records Act, as well as for trespass to chattels, were dismissed Monday by the US District Court for the Eastern District of California.

Privacy claims from two of the four pseudonymous plaintiffs were also dismissed as duplicative because a lawsuit filed in the Central District of California came first. Claims for invasion of privacy ...
