Any legislative approach to kids safety also needs to weigh privacy principles such as data minimization, tech lobbyists argued Wednesday at an event in Washington, D.C.
Nick Rossi, director of federal government affairs at Apple, said he’s tried to underscore to lawmakers that data minimization is a key privacy principle and that if a company isn’t holding data, the risk of a breach or other intrusion is much less.
“It’s a concern we flag with some of the legislative proposals out there,” he said during the Future of Privacy Forum’s DC Privacy Forum.
