TAIPEI —Taiwan’s Executive Yuan (Cabinet) Aug. 30 approved a draft bill to revise four controversial articles of Taiwan’s 2010 Personal Data Protection Act, according to Cabinet spokesman Yu-wei Hu.
The Cabinet set Oct. 1 as the date of implementation for the law, excluding the four articles being revised by the legislature, Hu said.
In February, the Cabinet ordered a new evaluation of the law rather than approve long-delayed enforcement rules to implement the act (32 PRA, 2/17/12).
