T-Mobile Strikes Deal With Plaintiffs to Pause Privacy Lawsuits

T-Mobile US Inc. has reached a deal with plaintiffs in two related data privacy cases to halt the litigation until the Judicial Panel on Multidistrict Litigation rules on a pending motion to transfer.

Pausing the lawsuits until the JPML rules will conserve judicial and party resources, T-Mobile and plaintiffs Richard Halpern and Thalessa Billups argued in separate stipulated motions, both filed Tuesday in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Washington.

Halpern sued T-Mobile in September, accusing the telecom giant of failing to guard customer data from a breach this summer. Billups later that month also sued T-Mobile, ...
